Thankfully, I got an appointment very quickly. However, the doctor unfortunately isn't familiar with the topic of fertility. My thyroid levels aren't ideal for trying to conceive. When he makes statements like, "I'm not familiar with the current studies," "Miscarriages happen," and "I don't think a small amount of thyroxine would be harmful, but I won't prescribe it for you," you start to question his competence. A little more empathy, especially with such a sensitive topic, would be appreciated. I don't understand why the practice didn't tell me right away that he couldn't help me. I'm curious to see what my insurance company will bill me for this three-minute consultation. No tests were performed at all.
