I used to buy Lidl's Frankfurt beef sausage a lot; they were delicious, but the new ones are awful. It's a real shame. I hope the old ones come back.
G.A. Müller is the first and oldest producer of original Frankfurter sausages. In my opinion, they also have the best meat sausage (€2.40 for a ring/400g or €6.00/kg; at Selgros €8.00/kg) in the area. Likewise, the beef sausage (€3.50 for 10 pieces/kg of second-grade, just a little crunchy) from Müller is incredibly good, as are almost all the other meat products I've tasted so far, whether Mettwurst, Schinkenbockwurst (€6.60/kg), or similar (as of October 2014).
